MacroGenics Appoints Matthew Fust to Its Board of Directors
ROCKVILLE, Md., March 6, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacroGenics, Inc. (Nasdaq:MGNX) today announced that its Board of Directors is increasing its size from seven to eight members and that Matthew Fust has been appointed to fill the vacancy. Mr. Fust joins the Board and becomes Chairman of its Audit Committee, effective immediately. Mr. Fust will serve as a Class II Director, with Class II having a term expiring at the annual meeting of stockholders to be held in 2015.
Matthew Fust was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company that was purchased by Amgen in October 2013. Mr. Fust joined the company in January 2009. From May 2003 to December 2008, Mr. Fust served as Chief Financial Officer of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Fust served as Chief Financial Officer of Perlegen Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ALZA Corporation, a pharmaceutical
company, where he was an executive from 1996 until 2002. Mr. Fust serves as a Director of Sunesis Pharmaceuticals and Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical. Mr. Fust received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
